    Ukraine 2022-2024

    Context

The humanitarian situation in Ukraine remains dire as the conflict persists into 2025. As of August 2024, approximately 3.7 million people were internally displaced, with an additional 6.7 million seeking refuge abroad. The intensification of hostilities, particularly in the Northeast, East, and South, has exacerbated civilian casualties and infrastructure damage. In August 2024 alone, 184 civilians were killed and 886 injured due to increased bombardments and ground offensives. Essential services, including housing, water, electricity, and heating, have suffered severe disruptions, leaving millions in need of humanitarian assistance. Despite the efforts of over 645 organizations providing aid to 8 million people in the first 11 months of 2024, OCHA the scale of the crisis continues to outpace the response, underscoring the urgent need for sustained international support.
